Meet Luke
Luke Taylor, Ph.D. is a piano technician based in Los Angeles, California. With more than 20 years of experience, he has tuned, regulated, and repaired instruments for leading artists, festivals, and institutions throughout Southern California.
As the owner of Luke’s Piano Service, he works with clients including Steinway & Sons, major universities, and concert venues, and homes throughout Los Angeles.
Formerly Chief Concert & Artist Technician for Steinway Los Angeles, Luke trained at the Steinway & Sons factory in NY and still maintains the West Coast region’s concert fleet and prepares instruments for artists such as Lang Lang, Hélène Grimaud, Jon Batiste, and Alicia Keys.
He holds a Ph.D. from UC Santa Barbara, an M.F.A. from CalArts, and a B.A. from UC San Diego (summa cum laude), blending musical artistry with deep technical expertise.
